Lets Talk About Sex: Condom Myths

havingthetalk:

  1. Using two condoms at the same time can increase your protection. False. The friction between the two condoms can actually cause them to tear.
  2. If you are allergic to latex, you can’t use condoms. False. There are alternative to latex condoms, including Polyurethane condoms, Polyisoprene condoms, Polyisoprene condoms, and FC2 (the female condom).
  3. Condoms can’t be found in my size. False. Condoms come in different sizes, and the stretch to fit the form of the penis.
  4. Condoms break too easily. False. The Magnum XL condom can hold 7 gallons of water.
  5. Condoms decrease sensation. False. Pleasure is subjective. Some say that condoms increase pleasure by desensitizing the penis so sex can last longer (which is why there is a market for thick condoms). Also there is ribbed condoms, or thin condoms that can increase pleasure.
  6. You can use flavoured condoms during vaginal sex. False. It is not recommended because the sugars from the flavoured condom can cause a vaginal infection.
  7. You can use any lube with condoms. False. Oil based lube can damage latex condoms, which can cause them to tear. Use water based lube with condoms.
  8. You must be over 18 years old to buy condoms. False. There is no age restriction.
  9. Condoms are 100% safe against STDs. False. Even if you use a condom properly, other parts of genitalia can come into contact, and spread an STD.
  10. Keeping a condom on you at all times if a good idea. False. Heat and pressure could cause the breakdown of the condom to accelerate. The expiry date gives a good indicator of when a condom should expire in proper conditions, so make sure you keep it in proper conditions.

A 2500 year old mummy that had some amazing tattoos.

WHAT.

NO FUCKING WAY.

YO HOLD ON.

IT GETS BETTER.

This mummy, found in the  Altai mountains of Siberia, is actually that of a young woman who died at about the age of twenty-five; she is thought to have been a member of the Pazyryk tribe.

She was buried with six horses and two similarly-tattooed men (the horned griffon that decorates her shoulder also appears on the man buried closest to her, covering most of his right side), possibly escorts. She was also wearing a horse-hair wig, silk, and elaborate boots, which is all a level of ceremony that would have likely only been accorded to a woman of high rank. You didn’t get inked like this unless you were very important, and had worked your way up to that importance.

…Hence, of course, the references to her by researchers as ‘The Ukok Princess,’ although due to the lack of weapons in her grave they have concluded that the woman was in fact a healer or a storyteller.

And now I’m all consumed with curiosity: Who was she? What amazing things did she accomplish? Why these symbols, and what did they mean? Who were the two men alongside her?

The most informative article about it can be found here, although I would completely eat up any other information you guys could find.
